I am currently still trying to figure out what exactly I want to be when I grow up. I know I want to be a Christ-like lover who gets better at loving every day, and I know I will continue to be a believer of the goodness and beauty that lies at the core of everyone human...
Everything else is secondary, really.
I'm a kook. I'm a poet. I'm a musician. And I'm starry-eyed and idealistic, which isn't to say I'm out of touch with reality, 'cause I'm not. I know what's real. I also know it will be real whether I think about it or not, so I might as well wrap my heart and mind around the most wonderful possible truth, right? :)
I grew up in Manchester, IA, raised by the super great Paul and Janet Glaza, and I'm the older sister to the loveliest brothers a girl could ask for, Daniel and Jacob.
As for how I ended up in Bridgewater, here's the nutshell version:
After graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Morningside College (Sioux City, IA) in 2005, I packed my bags and moved to Switzerland to be a nanny for the Carolis. (To read a bit more about them, go and read our engagement story.) Seven months passed, and I headed back to the United States, where, after only 2 weeks of reconnecting with some friends and family in Iowa, I headed to Massachusetts to work as a personal care attendant for the Barakauskas family, with whom I still live today. About 2 weeks after arriving, I was introduced to South Shore Community Church, where I felt right at home... (continued in the our story section.)
Hey! I'm a 26 year old web designer (see some of my work at respondcreate.com) who spent the first eighteen years of my life in Plymouth, Massachusetts. My parents, Bob and Susan, are both teachers and I have a brother (Matt) and sister (Joanna) who are two years older than me and twins. I attended Messiah College from 1999 til 2003 where I got my bachelor's degree in graphic design. I'm currently living in a mobile home in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts that is complete with a rotting deck out front and a fire pit out back.
I love beer, wine, movies, electronic music, admiring beautiful things, the internet, long meals, reading and watching the sun rise or set at the beach.
Things I'd like to do before I die: write a book, have kids, see all 50 states, take another extended vacation in Europe, learn to surf and become an excellent cook.
